If only we all could look this hot at 35 weeks pregnant…sigh… Seriously, though, Jill & Chris were so much fun to photograph and we were thrilled to have a beautiful, warm January day for our shoot. Can’t wait to meet baby girl next month

Kynlee ~ 6 months

Who better to be the first face to grace the blog in 2012 than my beautiful niece Kynlee! I cannot believe she is 6 months already. The last 6 months have been such a whirlwind of highs & lows for our family, but I have to say that having Kynlee in the family now has been the highest high. She brings us all so much joy…I mean who couldn’t immediately be happy after seeing her face?!? Corbin absolutely loves his “Kynkie” and bless her heart she puts up with a lot from him…his open mouth sloppy kisses, nose honking, roller coaster bouncy seat rides, balls to the head and all. She is such a happy baby and is certainly coming into her own and developing quite the personality (as I’m sure you can see from all the funny faces). We all love our Kynlee and thank you for making our lives a whole lot brighter these past 6 months! And now let’s just get on with the pictures in her too-adorable-for-words nursery that Jenny poured her heart into making perfect.

I think I can safely say that Leah & Dan are DPS’s biggest fans Their wedding was one of the first we shot after starting the business and they have since become not just clients, but friends. The last time we got together, I knew they would be jumping on the baby band wagon very soon, so I was thrilled to get the news that she was pregnant a few months ago. Leah wanted her session in the Fall colors even though we were waiting for her to “pop” more and luckily we were able to do the session just in time. Can’t wait to meet this baby girl in February!

Luke ~ newborn session

I had the privilege of shooting this little man’s birth a couple weeks ago, and it was so nice to go back under less intense circumstances and photograph him again He was one of the most laid back babies I’ve ever photographed and that’s always a nice change for me. I think he looks like his mamma…which is not a bad thing Rachel was amazing as she gave birth naturally and is an even more amazing mother. To see the birth photos & read the full story CLICK HERE.

Kynlee ~ newborn session

Let me officially introduce you to my niece Kynlee Jamison born on July 2, 2011. She is seriously the most beautiful baby girl on the planet…and I’m not just saying that cuz I’m biased. She pretty much came out of the womb looking like this good. But I wouldn’t expect less with parents who look like this (this photo was taken when Jenny was 8 weeks pregnant with Kynlee).

This is just the first of I’m sure many times you’ll be seeing her

We are all just smitten with her and love having a baby around again…especially a girl. It will be so fun to watch her & Corbin grow up together and see what kind of trouble they get into once Kynlee gets old enough to play with him. They are only a little over 14 months apart – which seems like a huge difference now – but next Summer I’m sure they’ll be best buds

Baby Cora

Meet sweet baby Cora. She is my friend Sarah’s baby and it was so much fun photographing her. She was born on April 28th and I happened to be at the hospital the same night she was born because I was there photographing Alisha’s birth. Sarah and her hubby Brett did not find out whether they were having a boy or girl and I will never forget Brett’s face as he came out of the room and said “It’s a girl!” Sarah had a great natural birth and they are both totally smitten with her…but how could you not be?!?

That’s because they are having a baby!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Jenny has had baby fever for awhile now, but they weren’t going to try until 2012…OOPS!! God sure had other plans for them and they couldn’t be happier We are super thrilled also and cannot wait to meet our new little nephew or niece next June! Corbin and his new little cousin will be about 14 months apart and it will be so fun to watch them grow up together and hopefully be best buds

This baby is destined to be the most beautiful baby on the planet…

Corbin @ 6 months

He is too precious for words…

I realized that ever since I start my personal blog I have not posted any personal pictures over here…oops! I know most of you do not read my personal blog, so I wanted to share a few pictures of our sweet little boy and a few thoughts about the last 6 months.

Everyone said it would happen, but I don’t think you can fully understand how quickly time flies by until you have a child. Since transitioning to a family of 4 (of course we can’t forget Opie was our first child ) has been a relatively easy and natural transition for us, it feels like Corbin has been with us forever. On the other hand, though, I think back to his birth in April and those first couple weeks of motherhood euphoria and realize just how quickly the newborn days are over – so sad!

Although I do miss the days when he was so small & cuddly & immobile, I think I would choose to freeze time right about now. He has just enough personality & independence to be so fun & interactive, yet still be a baby who needs his mamma and will still cuddle and fall asleep on my chest whenever he is tired. Over the last couple of weeks, he has been working on mastering the art of crawling. He can crawl the “correct” way now (not just the military scoot), but he can’t go too far without loosing his balance. I’m sure we will be chasing after him within a matter of days now!

This Summer has been a whirlwind for sure! I was fortunate enough to take the remainder of April and all of May off to be with Corbin, but we were back in the full swing of shooting on June 5th. On top of shooting every weekend since then, I started back to my “desk” job 3 days/week in early July and that’s when things got really crazy. I thought by now I might have found a way to maintain some sort of balance, but I’ve embraced the fact that my schedule is just going to get a little crazier before it gets better December & January should be pretty low key, so I’m looking forward to some quieter days ahead to re-charge for next year.

I do want to take a minute and thank all of our clients who have been so great and understanding! I am not able to turn around my editing as quickly this year as I have in the past and it really helps my anxiety to have patient clients Also – I obviously have not been able to keep this blog up-to-date, but I plan on catching up when things slow down…so expect lots of goodness from this season to be up later this year!
