Much Needed Relaxation

This is where Donny and I are going this weekend:

No phones, no internet, no distractions…

I can’t wait!!

p.s. – That is Donny on the edge of a very high cliff in Red River Gorge. Ryan took that picture just a few weeks ago when the guys went camping there. Now it is my turn :)

Just Because…

Well I officially have about 15 minutes left until my birthday is over. It has been a great day filled with many wishes from my wonderful friends and family. It is amazing how a simple birthday wish can make you feel so good and loved.  I really got to celebrate twice (one of the many perks of being married!)…last night we ate dinner at Teak with Donny’s family and then tonight we had some good stuffed pizza and went to see the movie “Up” with my family. It was also my parent’s 30th wedding anniversary yesterday, so we did a little extra celebrating tonight for them as well. By the way, if you have not seen “Up” yet, I highly recommend it!! It was seriously SO good :)

Anyway, I really wanted to do a personal post and share some pictures from the past couple of months, but I realized a lot of the pictures are on my other hard drive, so it will have to wait a little longer. I really want to start doing more personal posts on a regular basis, it is just hard to find the time! That is one of my goals…so hold me to it, ok?

For now, I will leave you with a few fun pictures from the 4th of July weekend.

I can’t really take credit for this one…all I did was take the picture…Ryan was the artist :)

Javis & Theresa ~ married (part 1)

I have decided to break up Javis & Theresa’s wedding into a couple posts because there are just too many shots to choose from! Donny and I had Erin from Zeju Photography shooting with us and between the three of us, there are lots of shots to go through! We spent all day with Javis & Theresa and had an absolute blast. They are so laid back and fun and you could just tell they were on top of the world all day (despite the extreme heat we had over Memorial Day weekend).

We started the day off separately because Javis & Theresa did not want to see each other before the wedding. Donny spent the first part of the day with the guys while Erin & I were with the girls. I’ve said it before but I’ll say it again – Theresa you are gorgeous!!

Time for the ceremony! Theresa chose to walk down the aisle most of the way by herself and meet up with her dad at the end.

Javis & Theresa ~ Sneak Peak

Javis & Theresa’s wedding will be coming soon to a blog near you! They have been waiting so patiently so I wanted to post a few sneak peaks before I head out to shoot a wedding today.

Hannah & Justin ~ married

Hannah & Justin’s wedding was one of two weddings we shot over Memorial Day weekend. It was a super hot & sticky day with a few sprinkles of rain mixed in here and there, but everyone made the best of it and endured the weather for lots of picture time. Hannah & Justin planned to have their first look at the beautiful Glenwood Gardens and then do the rest of the bridal party shots there before the ceremony. I just have to say that Hannah planned the day out perfectly – and as a result, Donny and I were able to spend lots of time photographing Hannah & Justin and the rest of the bridal party :) It was such a treat because all too often pictures end up being rushed because it seems that so many weddings run a little behind schedule. The rest of the day went off without a hitch and a good time was had by all!

10th one down is DEFINITELY my favorite! :)

andy & emily ~ engaged

I am jumping out of order a little bit because Andy & Emily are getting married on July 31 – only a few short weeks away! I shot their engagement session about a week and a half ago and wanted to post it before their wedding. I met Andy & Emily in May at a coffee shop and I knew right away that they were going to be a great couple to work with because they are so laid back and fun. It was really fun watching them interact during this session because they were constantly laughing at the thought of “acting natural” while having a big camera shoved in their faces. They did end up getting the hang of it and definitely did not have to try hard to look great because they are so stinkin’ cute together!

See what I mean?
