Evan {newborn}

I just love shooting this family and Evan’s newborn session was no exception. He was born exactly 3 weeks after Izzy and even though I was still technically on maternity leave then, he made it worth it to leave her for the first time. He was one of the most wide awake newborns I’ve ever shot (until the very end of course!), but he was so good the whole time! Congratulations to the Kreider family ๐Ÿ™‚

Amy + Bill ~ married

Amy and Bill started dating right around the time that our sister Jenny married Bill’s brother Dan almost 5 years ago. So…we have known and loved Amy for years now and have been waiting along with everyone else for Bill to pop the question. He finally did last Summer and we have looking forward to shooting this wedding ever since. And I have to say it did not disappoint! We were treated more like guests than photographers and it didn’t even feel like we were working. We had a blast and couldn’t be happier for you guys!! Congratulations!

First Day of Kindergarten & Preschool 2015

It has been a big week for us as Corbin started kindergarten and Rylan started his first year of preschool. I’ve been homeschooling Corbin for the past 2 years of preschool (except for the last couple of months of last year when he finished out the year at a traditional preschool). I knew the transition was going to be rough on Corbin because he is super shy in new social situations like this, but what I didn’t expect was how emotional I was going to be haha! We walked into the school for orientation on Wednesday and I couldn’t hold back the tears…and then every little thing would make me teary all over again. I think it is a mix of the fact that my oldest is growing up so fast, the fact that I’m 8 months pregnant and my hormones are crazy, and the fact that I can’t help but feel the pang of guilt that I’m not still homeschooling. I have peace that we are making the right decision for our kids based on our crazy schedules right now, but it is still a bit sad.

Corbin had a rough start to his first day with not wanting to leave my side, but then was ok towards the end. I know in time he will be fine for drop off because he always comes out of class smiling. Rylan on the other hand was asking me to leave the whole time we were at his first day (which was a day that I was supposed to stay the whole time) because he wanted to stay all by himself. He did great and listened to his teacher very well, so I’m not the least bit worried about him. Such a difference of personalities in these two! I’m excited for their new experiences and to see how they both grow this year. And so glad to get this transition under our belts before baby girl arrives in 7 (hopefully less!) short weeks!!First-Day-of-School

Tom + Maureen ~ married

Tom & Maureen (Mo) might have been the most laid back bride & groom I’ve ever worked with. Their whole day went off without a hitch and it was a blast to be a part of. Congrats to the happy couple!!
