Special Christmas Giveaway Winner x 2!!

First of all I would like to thank everyone who submitted nominations for my 2008 Giving is Awesome Christmas giveaway. It has been great hearing all of the amazing stories and it was really refreshing to hear from everyone who cares so deeply for their nominees. You all are very special people with big hearts and I hope you know that. I also hope you know that you all made it incredibly hard for me to choose a winner…so I chose 2 instead! Here are their stories:

Suzie Baker

“Suzie was diagnosed with Breast Cancer several years ago.  While receiving treatment for the cancer, her husband left her.  She has a daughter that is a Freshman in high school and another daughter that is in her second year at the Art Academy that live with her.  She also has a son that is 26.  After her treatment for the cancer, she found out that the treatment did permanent nerve damage in her legs.  She is now on Permanent Disability.  The cancer has returned and is now terminal.  The doctors have said that there is nothing they can do to help it, all the can do is try and treat the symptoms.  The cancer has now spread completely through her body and she probably only has a few months left”.

Kaianna Kadivnik

“I read your Giving is Awesome blog and can’t think of a more deserving family than the Kadivniks. My best friend’s big sister, Kaianna, was burned over 70% of her body in a fire in her apartment building on November 15th. Thankfully, her 4 year old babygirl, Jada, was not in the apartment at the time. Kai will be in a medically-induced coma for at least the next three months and I thought it would be wonderful if when she wakes up she has some beautiful photos of her mom, her sisters, and of course, Miss Jada. I talked to my best friend tonight and she confirmed that if selected, they would love to and would be able to fly home for the photos”.

I can’t wait to work these amazing women. Thanks again and I hope everyone has a very Merry Christmas!
